The short answer: for a live game, go to the stadium. Slavia plays in Eden, Sparta at Letná. For the Champions League on a screen with a beer, find a bar that shows the match you want and get there early. In Old Town, Annie's on Malé náměstí shows Champions League matches live, steps from the Astronomical Clock.
Prague's two big clubs
Slavia Praha plays in Eden, in the Vršovice district. The stadium currently carries the name Fortuna Arena. Slavia is in this season's Champions League.
Sparta Praha plays at Letná, above the river. The stadium is currently called epet ARENA.
When the two meet, it's the Prague derby, the city's famous rivalry. Stadium names change with sponsors, so locals often just say Eden and Letná. Tickets are sold through the clubs' official websites.
Kick-off times in Prague
Champions League evening matches in Prague start at 18:45 or 21:00 local time. Prague is one hour ahead of London, so a 21:00 kick-off here is 20:00 in the UK.
An 18:45 kick-off at Annie's still catches the last 15 minutes of happy hour, which runs every day from 4pm to 7pm.
Watching in a bar: what to know
- Check which match is on. When several Champions League games kick off at the same time, a bar may show only one of them. Ask before you go.
- Come early for the big matches.
- Groups: for a regular visit you just come by. Coming with a big group? Let the bar know in advance.
